Introduction
A 4-port HDMI splitter over CAT5e/CAT6 cable is a device that allows you to distribute an HDMI signal from a single source (such as a Blu-ray player, gaming console, or computer) to multiple displays or screens located in different rooms using CAT6 network cables. This setup is often referred to as HDMI over CAT6 or HDMI over Ethernet.
Here's how it generally works: You have a source device (e.g., a Blu-ray player) that has an HDMI output. This device is connected to the HDMI splitter. The HDMI splitter takes the HDMI signal from the source device and splits it into four receivers. Instead of using traditional HDMI cables to connect the splitter to the displays, CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cables are used. These cables can transmit HDMI signals over longer distances with the help of the extender and the receivers.
